Combat sport - A combat sport (also known as a combative sport) is a competitive contact sport where two combatants fight against each other using certain rules of engagement. The techniques and methods used are typically striking, grappling, and/or weapon usage.
International sport combat federation - The International Sport Combat Federation (ISCF) is a sanctioning body for the sport of mixed martial arts. It is a sister organization of the International Kickboxing Federation.
Submission (combat sport term) - A submission (depending on the context also referred to as a "tap out" or "tapping out") is a combat sports term for yielding to the opponent, and hence resulting in an immediate defeat. The submission is commonly performed by clearly tapping the floor or the opponent with the hand to signal the opponent and possibly the referee of the submission.
Hand to hand combat - Hand to hand combat (sometimes abbreviated as HTH or H2H) is a generic term for close quarters fighting, particularly when the outcome is likely to be fatal, as in mêlée military combat or a duel. This distinguishes it from combat sport.
